Spring Experiment

Today was my first day returning to my STEM Signature project after winter break. This semester, I plan to continue my research by testing a glycolytic assay. The first step in this process was making the medium since there was sodium bicarbonate in the buffers.

In order to make the medium, we have to add the components separately. The inorganic salts had to be measured out with the calculations done the previous time. The list of inorganic salts were: Ca(NO3)x4H20, MgSO4, KCL, NaCl, and Na2HPO4.

In addition to the inorganic salts, we added amino acids from a combination of all of them. The last component were vitamins which also came in a mix together.

Next week , I will finish making the medium and continue setting up for the experiment.
